Services

NPOdev focuses on Christian schools and churches, mission organizations and missionaries, and small non-profits and community-based organizations in order to help them become sustainable entities and to accelerate success through the following service offerings.

NPOdev realizes that often times the “small guy” is over shadowed by the “bigger guy”.  Yet, all the “big guys” were once themselves “small guys”.  How did they grow from small to big? How did they grow from little impact to the most possible impact they could affect?  NPOdev is here to help with this.

What if being a “big guy” isn’t what you or your organization is about?  That’s ok!

Because NPOdev defines “big guy” not in terms of size, but in terms of maturity and impactfullness.  A mature individual or organization is one that is financially and organizationally healthy and strategically handles competition thus accomplishing its mission, moves towards its vision, and therefore is sustainable.

NPOdev does not define itself by our service offereings.  Rather NPOdev distinctively defines itself by the benefit provided to you and your organization!

Consulting

Business Model Advancement – Are you and your organization aligned in the center betwixt your passions, what you can be the best in “your world” at, and your Resource Engine?  Jim Collins identifies this as one’s Hedge Hog Concept and is just one aspect of a 5 stage organizational stabilization and subsequent acceleration process to improve effectiveness.

Development – Need help assessing where you and your organization are currently at along the road to sustainability?  Are you stuck on a certain rung of the ladder and need guidance and motivation to accelerate to the next level? Do you think having an endowment or other funds are out of your reach? How are Time, Money, and Brand contributing to your Resource Engine? Do you have a Social Image™?

Strategy – Whether you and your organization want to admit it or not, you are in competition! Maybe it is with the church or school down the road.  Maybe it is for resources.  Maybe it is internal and with oneself.  Unless correctly identified, assessed, and assured that it’s in the proper ocean (and thus harnessed and leveraged) it will remain Unhealthy competition. Contrarily Healthy competition, when it is correctly identified and strategy is properly aligned, accelerates your organization into the sustainable future by categorizing competitors (partnerships, collaborations, etc) and making competition irrelevant by creating demand, harnessing untapped market space, and setting the rules.  So, what is your differential?  What are your and your organization’s distinctives?  How are you dealing with competition?

Funding (Resources)

Funding/Resource Assessment & Goals – What mode of cultivation are you in? Identifying your Resource Engine and funding goals is greater than listing or picking out the areas of need for you or your organization. A diagnosis must be performed in order to determine where on the path to sustainability one is. There is a “Spiral of i’s” that will help build a strong resource and supporter foundation.  Combined with the appropriate strategies for your situations, you and your organization will enter the playing field properly geared up.

Business As Mission/Social Entrepreneurship – These terms seem to have many meanings today.  From a for-profit entity being “socio-eco-fiscal-enviro-sponsible-green”, to a church or school managing and receiving resources from a second-hand store, to investors and non-governmental organizations infusing capital into an area to birth local businesses.  NPOdev believes a missing component of funding, especially for missionaries and schools is in this area.  While not all resource centers (businesses) that are started by, for, and within non-for-profit entities are flourishing by the for-profit definition, significant proof has emerged over the last decade and a very recent surge in adoption of this approach is very evident of its success around the world. Everyone and every entity has something to offer in this area and thus expand their reach while simultaneously capturing resources for your engine.

Initial Funding Match Report – NPOdev owns the rights to an International database of Foundations.  Analyzing your funding goals leads to alignment of those goals with the areas in which Foundations fund.  This Match is the key differentiation between grants from local, state, and national governmental agencies.  With these matches, NPOdev and your organization will be able to recognize and align available monies with your Funding Goals.

Grant Writing – After an IFM report has been produced, NPOdev will work with you and your organization to obtain monies.  This can be done via one of our grant writers or NPOdev will come alongside your grant writers.

Grant Evaluations – Many funders require an evaluation of the effectiveness and integral use of monies awarded.  NPOdev will help you and your organization meet these requirements or conduct such assessment for grants already received and that are currently in the evaluation stage.

Christian Education & Training Fund

Why go to all of this trouble and how is NPOdev different?

NPOdev realizes the need for an initial Fund and future Foundation that is prolific and focused in its support, acceleration, and advancement of Christian Education and Training beyond its mere implementation.

NPOdev acknowledges that obtaining funding as a Christian schools or churches,  as mission organizations or missionaries, and even as small non-profits or community-based organizations is difficult on a long term and sustainable basis.  Therefore to combat this issue NPOdev and its Partners have set out to establish the Christian Education & Training Fund in hopes that it will grow large enough, in the nearest possible future with God’s blessings, to convert into the legal structure of a Foundation.  It is to this end that NPOdev exists and functions differently than many other organizations, both for-profit and non-profit.
